Seminyak beach clubs: Potato Head, Ku De Ta, Mrs Sippy, La Plancha and nine more, with minimum spends and daybed booking

Four places, four different evenings, and a bill that depends far more on the booking rules than on the menu. What each one charges in 2026, how to hold a daybed, what to wear, which ones take children, and when the sun actually goes down.

Of all the Bali beach clubs, the ones in Seminyak are the easiest to do well, because thirteen of them line one stretch of sand from Batu Belig to Double Six, and none needs a scooter ride up a cliff. Four do most of the business: Potato Head is the famous one, Ku De Ta a restaurant with daybeds, Mrs Sippy a pool club with no sea, and La Plancha a row of beanbags on the sand. The other nine are mostly hotel beach clubs, quieter and often free to walk into.

What separates them is money and rules: whether you pay to get in, whether a daybed must be paid in full the day you book it, and whether your children or your singlet will be let through the door. All of that is below, checked against the clubs' own pages where they publish them, in October 2026.

The headline cost of each club, as published or reported in 2026. "++" means tax and service go on top, which in Bali adds 18 to 21 percent to the bill.

Potato Head Beach Club Bali: entry, cover charge and daybeds

  • Free entry, with a Rp 200,000 cover (US$11 · C$16) from 4pm to 6:30pm, redeemable on drinks
  • Daybeds partly first come, first served
  • Open 10am to midnight, 2am on Friday and Saturday
  • On the sand at Petitenget, infinity pool, sunset view
  • Children of any age, no dress code

Potato Head sits on the beach at Petitenget, at the northern end of Seminyak, behind a curved facade built from thousands of reclaimed wooden shutters. The infinity pool faces the sand and the sunset, and it is the image that sells half the beach club day passes on the island.

Entry is free, and the club says plenty of its seating has no minimum spend. The catch is the late afternoon. Its own beach club page lists a Rp 200,000 cover charge (US$11 · C$16) from 4pm to 6:30pm, redeemable against selected drinks, and warns that it can change on event days. Honeycombers reported Rp 250,000 from 4:30pm to 7pm in August 2026, so expect something in that range at sunset.

Opening hours are 10am to midnight Sunday to Thursday and until 2am on Friday and Saturday. The address is Desa Potato Head, Jalan Petitenget 51B.

Can you reserve a daybed at Potato Head?

Partly. The club's FAQ says daybeds are first come, first served and cannot be reserved for large groups, while its online system offers bookable seats depending on availability. Potato Head does not publish daybed minimums on any page we could read, so check the figure on the booking screen for your date rather than trusting a number from an old blog. On a Saturday the pool deck fills before noon.

Ku De Ta Bali: daybed price and booking rules

  • Daybed for three ≈ Rp 2,000,000++ (US$111 · C$156), paid in full
  • No entry fee, walk-ins carry no minimum after the booking window
  • Open daily from 8am until late, on Jalan Kayu Aya
  • Smart casual from 6pm, no singlets or boardshorts
  • Family Day every Sunday, 10am to 2pm

Ku De Ta is the oldest of the big Seminyak beach clubs, on Jalan Kayu Aya 9, and still open under that name in 2026, daily from 8am until late. It feels more like a seafront restaurant with a lawn than a party, which is why it suits a sunset followed by dinner. There is no entry fee.

A daybed holds up to three people and costs about Rp 2,000,000++ (US$111 · C$156) according to Honeycombers in August 2026. The club sells them through its own ticketing page, where the live figure for your date appears.

Ku De Ta booking and cancellation policy

Ku De Ta's published terms are stricter than most and worth reading before you pay:

  • The minimum spend is paid in full to confirm the booking and is credited 100% to food and drink.
  • It is non-refundable. You can move or transfer it if you ask at least 48 hours ahead, subject to availability.
  • A daybed is held for 30 minutes after your booked time, a dining table for 15.
  • Bookings for the lounge and beach deck run until 3pm and for dining until 9pm. After that it is walk-in, and the terms say walk-ins carry no minimum spend.
  • Bills carry 8% service and 10% tax. Groups of ten or more book by email.

That fourth point is the useful one. If you only want a drink on the beach deck at sunset, arriving after the booking window can cost you a drink rather than a daybed. Seats are not guaranteed, so get there early. Monday to Wednesday, the club also runs an Orange Hour from noon to 3pm: four Aperol Spritz for Rp 700,000++ (US$39 · C$55).

Mrs Sippy Bali: entry fee, minimum spend and the diving tower

  • Entry Rp 150,000 (US$8.30 · C$11.70) with towel
  • Daybeds from Rp 750,000 (US$42 · C$59), 50% deposit
  • Open 10am to 9pm, no sea or sunset view
  • Saltwater pool, diving tower at 1, 3 and 5 metres
  • Children welcome under supervision

Mrs Sippy is not on the beach. It is a pool club in a lane in Kerobokan Kelod (Jalan Taman Ganesha, Gang Gagak 8), set back from Petitenget, and you go for the large saltwater pool. Its diving tower has platforms at 1, 3 and 5 metres, and the top one is reserved for anyone taller than 150 cm. It is open 10am to 9pm every day, so it is a daytime place rather than a sunset one.

The website lists pool entry at Rp 150,000 (US$8.30 · C$11.70) per person with a towel. Its older FAQ quoted Rp 100,000 plus Rp 50,000 for the towel, which comes to the same. The sports bar is free to enter, and booking a daybed covers your entry.

Mrs Sippy minimum spend for daybeds and cabanas

These are the figures from the club's own FAQ, updated in May 2025 and still the published grid in October 2026. They go up on event days. A 50% deposit holds the booking, and cancelling within 24 hours loses it.

Mrs Sippy seatingDetailMinimum spend
Single daybedOne person. Entry is included once the bed is booked.Rp 750,000 (US$42 · C$59)
DaybedUp to four people, 50% deposit to hold it.Rp 2,500,000 (US$139 · C$195)

For the sea and the sunset, the same owners run Sunset Beach by Mrs Sippy on the sand at Jalan Camplung Tanduk 99, near Double Six.

La Plancha Seminyak: beanbags on the sand, no booking at sunset

  • No formal minimum, a drink or a snack each
  • No bookings from about 4pm to 7pm
  • Beanbags on the sand at Double Six, no pool
  • Open roughly 10am to 11pm
  • Children welcome, short kids' menu

Strictly speaking, La Plancha is a beach bar: it sits at the end of Jalan Double Six with coloured umbrellas and beanbags set straight on the sand, no pool, no gate and no dress code. It opened in 2010 and still fills up every evening before the sun goes down.

There is no formal minimum spend. One guide quotes about Rp 200,000 a head for the front-row beanbags, but in practice staff expect you to order a drink or a small plate. It does not take bookings between about 4pm and 7pm, so arrive by 4:30pm for the front row. The scooter parking is usually full by 5pm. At high tide the first row can end up in the water.

One warning: the domain laplanchabali.com no longer belongs to the bar and now serves an online casino. Find the bar on a map rather than through search results.

More beach clubs in Seminyak: Petitenget, Batu Belig and Double Six

Beyond the big four, nine more places line the same sand, from Batu Belig in the north to Double Six in the south. Most are attached to a hotel and are quieter, and several are free to walk into. Their prices come from guides updated in 2026 rather than from the clubs, and the sources often disagree, so treat them as a guide and confirm when you book.

Mari Beach Club, Batu Belig

Mari Beach Club at dusk with daybeds, lanterns and thatched pavilions on the sand at Batu Belig, Bali
  • Sunset daybed for two Rp 1,550,000 (US$86 · C$121)
  • Sunset Stairs seat Rp 350,000 (US$19 · C$27)
  • Open noon to 10pm
  • On the sand at Batu Belig, pool with swim-up bar

The northernmost on this list, on the sand at Jalan Batu Belig 66, between Seminyak and Berawa. A pool with a swim-up bar, daybeds set in the water and the Sunset Stairs, a set of wide steps facing the sea that the club itself calls its best seat. Live music and DJ sessions at sunset, a kecak dance on Thursdays at 6:30pm. Open noon to 10pm.

Mano Beach House Seminyak

  • No entry fee, minimums from about Rp 150,000 (US$8.30 · C$11.70)
  • Open 11am to 11pm
  • On the beach at Petitenget, pool, sunset view
  • Quiet, more restaurant than party

On the beach road at Petitenget, a few minutes' walk from Potato Head, with a shaded pool and an open view of the sunset. It is a restaurant with sunbeds more than a club: no big DJ nights, and a crowd that comes to talk over a drink. Open 11am to 11pm.

Sunset Beach by Mrs Sippy

  • Free entry, about Rp 250,000 (US$13.90 · C$19.50) minimum on daybeds
  • Open from 10am
  • On the sand near Double Six, pool, DJ at sunset

The beachfront sister of Mrs Sippy, and the one with the sea the pool club lacks: beanbags straight on the sand, a pool you can book, a wood-fired grill and a DJ at sunset. Open from 10am.

WooBar at W Bali Seminyak

  • No entry fee, daybeds for four from ≈ Rp 2,000,000 (US$111 · C$156)
  • Beach bar of the W hotel, Petitenget
  • Sofas and daybeds facing the sunset

The beach bar of the W hotel on Petitenget, a lounge with sofas and daybeds looking at the sunset. It is a hotel bar rather than a club, but it gets booked like one for the evening.

Alila Seminyak beach bar

  • Free to Rp 400,000 (US$22 · C$31) per beanbag, depending on the source
  • Open 11am to 10pm, later on Thursdays
  • Hotel beach bar at Petitenget, infinity pool, calm

The beach bar of the Alila hotel at Petitenget, with an infinity pool facing the sea. Polished, quiet and the opposite of Potato Head next door. Open 11am to 10pm, later on Thursdays.

Infinity Beach Club, The Seminyak Beach Resort

  • Paid entry, quoted at Rp 150,000 to 350,000 (US$8.30 to US$19 · C$11.70 to C$27)
  • Closes at 7pm, a day place rather than a sunset one
  • 45-metre infinity pool, children's corner

The pool club of The Seminyak Beach Resort and Spa, on the beach off Jalan Kayu Aya, built around a 45-metre infinity pool that seems to run into the ocean. Calm, family-friendly with a children's corner, and closes at 7pm, so it is a day place, not a sunset one.

SugarSand Bali, Hotel Indigo Seminyak

  • No entry fee, daybeds about Rp 600,000 (US$33 · C$47)
  • Open 7am to 11pm
  • Hotel Indigo seafront, rooftop for the sunset

On the seafront at Hotel Indigo, Jalan Camplung Tanduk 10. More a Japanese izakaya with a beach view than a club, with soft live music and a rooftop that works well for the sunset. Non-guests are welcome. Open 7am to 11pm.

Ocean Grand Beach, Grand Seminyak

  • Daybed minimum from none to Rp 300,000 (US$16.70 · C$23.40), sources differ
  • Open 7am to 10pm
  • Grand Seminyak resort at Double Six, direct beach access

The beach club of the Grand Seminyak resort at Double Six, with direct access to the sand, live music and occasional fire shows. Relaxed, rarely full, and easy to walk into without a plan. Open 7am to 10pm.

Cocoon Beach Club, Double Six

  • Free entry most days, daybeds Rp 500,000 to 1,500,000
  • Across the road from Double Six beach, pool
  • Children welcome, ticketed pool parties on event days

Reopened in 2023 after three years shut, Cocoon sits across the road from Double Six beach rather than on it, with a pool ringed by daybeds and a view of the sea from the upper floor. Easy-going most days, with pool parties on event weekends, and children are welcome.

Beach club minimum spend in Bali: what you actually pay

A minimum spend is not an entry fee. It is the amount you commit to spend on food and drink in exchange for a daybed, a cabana or a pool lounger. If your order comes to less, you pay the difference anyway. If it comes to more, you pay the excess.

Three things push the bill above the headline number. The first is the "++": tax and service of 18 to 21 percent go on top, so a Rp 2,000,000++ daybed becomes roughly Rp 2,380,000. The second is the day: weekends and event days carry higher minimums at Mrs Sippy and elsewhere. The third is drink prices, which are set for resort spending: two cocktails each will use up most of a daybed minimum for two.

Is a Seminyak beach club worth the minimum spend?

For a group of three or four who will eat lunch and stay until dark, yes: split four ways, a Rp 2,500,000 daybed at Mrs Sippy is about Rp 625,000 a head (US$35 · C$49) for a full day of food, drinks and pool. For a couple who only want the sunset, no. Sit on a La Plancha beanbag or walk into Ku De Ta after the booking window, and keep the money for dinner on Eat Street.

How to book a daybed at a Seminyak beach club

Every club books differently, and the differences decide what happens if it rains or your flight moves.

  • Potato Head: online through the club's own booking system, for the seats it releases. Daybeds are otherwise first come, first served.
  • Ku De Ta: through its ticketing page, paid in full, non-refundable, movable with 48 hours' notice.
  • Mrs Sippy: by WhatsApp, email or its online booking page, with a 50% deposit and a 24-hour cancellation cut-off.
  • La Plancha: no booking at sunset. Phone ahead only for a big group or a weekend lunch.

Book directly with the club when you can, and always book for a weekday if your dates allow it: weekend and event-day minimums are higher.

What time is sunset at Seminyak beach clubs?

Bali sits eight degrees south of the equator, so the sunset moves very little over the year. It falls between 6:09pm in late June and 6:45pm in mid January, and the sky stays coloured for about 25 minutes after that. Times below are calculated for Seminyak and accurate to a couple of minutes.

DateDetailSunset
15 JanuaryThe latest sunset of the year, in the middle of the wet season.6:45pm
20 MarchStill late, and the rains are thinning out.6:30pm
21 JuneThe earliest of the year, peak dry season and peak crowds.6:09pm
15 AugustSchool holidays in Australia, busiest daybed month.6:18pm
23 SeptemberDry, clear and slightly quieter than August.6:15pm
15 NovemberThe first storms, often in the afternoon rather than at dusk.6:19pm
21 DecemberChristmas and New Year pricing at every club.6:36pm

Whatever the month, aim to be seated by 5pm: that is when La Plancha's front row and Potato Head's pool deck have gone. From November to March the clearest sunsets come on days when the afternoon storm passes early. The Bali weather month by month page shows how often that happens.

What to wear to a beach club in Bali

During the day, the rule at all four clubs is relaxed: swimwear by the pool, a cover-up, sundress or shorts everywhere else, and sandals. Two clubs set firmer rules.

  • Ku De Ta: from 6pm, smart casual. No singlets, sports shorts or boardshorts, and swimwear only in the pool areas.
  • Mrs Sippy and Ku De Ta: no T-shirts or singlets with alcohol brand logos. The classic Bintang singlet is refused at both.
  • Potato Head: officially no dress code. Swimwear is fine on the pool deck, and people dress up a little for the evening.
  • La Plancha: no rules at all. Wet swimwear and bare feet are normal.

Bali beach clubs for families: which Seminyak clubs allow kids

Seminyak is the easiest part of Bali for a beach club with children, because all four clubs here accept them, which is not true of the big party clubs further up the coast.

  • Potato Head: no age limit, and children's menus across the restaurants of the Desa.
  • Ku De Ta: children welcome under supervision, and a Family Day every Sunday from 10am to 2pm with activities. Some evening events are adults only.
  • Mrs Sippy: children welcome with constant supervision and a kids' corner, but no outside inflatables. On busy and event days its older FAQ limited children to before 4pm.
  • La Plancha: a beach bar, with a short kids' menu.

For a full day of water with children, the better fit may not be a beach club at all. Waterbom is in Kuta, a short drive south, and the Waterbom Bali guide covers tickets, gazebos and the height limits on the slides.

Bali beach clubs in Seminyak: common questions

What is the most famous beach club in Bali?
Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak, with its facade of thousands of old wooden shutters and an infinity pool that looks straight onto the sand at Petitenget. Ku De Ta is the oldest name on this stretch of coast, but Potato Head is the one most people mean when they picture a Bali beach club.
What should girls wear to a beach club in Bali?
During the day, swimwear with a cover-up, a sundress or shorts, and sandals. Swimwear alone is fine around the pools but not in the restaurant areas. If you are staying past 6pm at Ku De Ta, switch to smart casual, which in practice means a dress or a nice top. Avoid tops with alcohol brand logos: Ku De Ta and Mrs Sippy both refuse them.
How much does a beach club cost in Bali?
Entry is often free, and what you pay is a minimum spend on food and drink. In Seminyak in 2026 that runs from nothing at La Plancha, to a Rp 150,000 entry at Mrs Sippy, to about Rp 2,000,000 for a daybed at Ku De Ta and Rp 2,500,000 for a four-person daybed at Mrs Sippy. Add 18 to 21 percent for tax and service on most bills.
Do you need to book Potato Head Beach Club?
Not to get in. Entry to the grass and the beach is free outside the late afternoon cover window, and much of the seating has no minimum spend. Daybeds are partly first come, first served and cannot be reserved for large groups. On a Saturday, arrive before noon or book whatever seat the online system offers for your date.
Are Seminyak beach clubs adults only?
No. Potato Head has no age limit, Ku De Ta runs a Family Day every Sunday, Mrs Sippy takes children with supervision, and La Plancha is a beach bar where families sit next to everyone else.
Is Ku De Ta still open in 2026?
Yes. Ku De Ta is open daily from 8am on Jalan Kayu Aya under the same name, with events listed through to New Year's Eve 2026. Nothing points to a closure or a rebrand.
Is Mrs Sippy on the beach?
No. Mrs Sippy is a pool club in a lane in Kerobokan Kelod, inland from Petitenget, with no sea view. Its sister venue, Sunset Beach by Mrs Sippy, is the one on the sand, on Jalan Camplung Tanduk near Double Six.
Can you walk along Seminyak Beach between the beach clubs?
Yes. The sand runs unbroken from Double Six north to Petitenget. La Plancha to Ku De Ta is roughly a fifteen-minute walk, and Ku De Ta to Potato Head about the same again. At high tide parts of it narrow, so do it in daylight.
Which beach club in Seminyak is best for sunset?
For the view alone, La Plancha, because the beanbags sit on the sand with nothing in front of them and nobody asks for a minimum. For sunset with a proper dinner after, Ku De Ta. Potato Head has the famous setting but charges a cover in the late afternoon. Mrs Sippy has no sunset view at all.
